Why did you start Crossfit? My first Tough Mudder was coming and scared me fit.

What were your goals when you started Crossfit? Continue to be… Lose weight, Gain strength, Never look my age.

How has Crossfit differed from your former training? The community and the friendships I’ve developed. The people I’ve met and workout with (and watch at the games) continue to inspire me every day, beyond crossfit. I’m committed to working hard. I work a little harder because they do too.

What type of results have you seen with Crossfit? I have lost weight and continue to lose more. My strength is greater, and more balanced/complete, now than at any other point in my life.

How would you describe your experience at Crossfit Hoboken?Supportive, welcoming, committed (the good kind). The coaches create the culture and our coaches are quite simply the best. Each has their strength and they all support each other to create a great experience for everyone.

Any advice for new members? In the words of Coach Rocky… “Everyone wants to be a lion… until it’s time to do lion shit. Today we do lion shit!”
You’re here! You’re a lion because you’re here! Be a lion!

What would you like to accomplish in the next year in your own fitness? What wouldn’t I like to do!?! Under 9-minute mile. My first muscle up. 50 unbroken DU. Complete Murph in under 50 minutes. I’m confident that if I can reach what I think is my ideal weight (200 lbs.), I can accomplish all of this.

What does a typical day of food look like for you? It’s improving. Egg whites. More chicken and other high protein, low fat foods. Farro and black rice for clean carbs. Dave’s organic bread! Vegetables. Snacking is my nemesis.

Why did you start Crossfit? A friend convinced me to try it with her. At the time I was mostly running so it sounded like a fun change.

What were your goals when you started Crossfit? Get in better shape.

How has Crossfit differed from your former training?  I have tried a lot of different workouts over the years. I did CrossFit for a year, then switched back to different classes at the gym and through ClassPass. In the end, nothing was as good of a workout or as fun for me as CrossFit, so I came back to it about a year and a half ago.

What type of results have you seen with Crossfit? I feel my strongest and fittest when I’m consistently doing CrossFit

How would you describe your experience at Crossfit Hoboken? I have been at CrossFit Hoboken a little less than a year but have really enjoyed it so far. People are friendly, the coaches are great, and I have progressed more with my gymnastics than I have at any other gym.

Any advice for new members? Just keep showing up. For me, getting to the gym when I’m tired or life gets in the way can be hard, but I always feels better after I work out.

What would you like to accomplish in the next year in your own fitness? So many things – but I think top of my list at the moment is getting a muscle up

What does a typical day of food look like for you? I follow a macro plan and try to eat small meals of healthy, whole foods as much as possible. It varies, but a lot of days it’s something like:
Post gym: protein shake
Morning snack: Greek yogurt
Lunch: Salad
Afternoon snack: fruit or veggies
Dinner: lean protein, veggies and rice or potatoes
