Why did you start Crossfit?
I wanted a way to stay in shape after playing collegiate soccer. Crossfit not only accomplished that but pushes me harder each day and humbles me each day, always giving me something I need to practice and get better at.

What were your goals when you started Crossfit?
Staying fit and become technically sound in all movements. I was never exposed to snatches and clean & jerks before I started.

How has Crossfit differed from your former training?
Crossfit has exposed me to more complex movements and combined strength and conditioning in a way that I never experienced before. It has also given me a new sense of what being fit actually is.

What type of results have you seen with Crossfit?
Crossfit has put me in the best shape of my life so far, and I continue to get better each and every day I step into the gym.

How would you describe your experience at Crossfit Hoboken?
I am fairly new to Crossfit Hoboken (less than 1 year) but so far my experience has been nothing but positive. The coaches are fantastic; all very knowledgeable in every movement and take the time to work with me to tweak and perfect my technique in lifts. The community is great, everyone is very personable and have the same goals as me, which makes working out in the gym that much better.

Any advice for new members?
Attend class at different times to meet as many members and coaches as you can. Will help you get acclimated to the gym quickly and become part of the CFH community.

What would you like to accomplish in the next year in your own fitness?
In my own fitness I want to hit a 200# snatch, hit 400 reps in “Fight gone bad,” and get more proficient in handstand walks and pistols

What does a typical day of food look like for you?
I eat very clean each day, between 5-6 meals throughout the day. Lots of veggies and fruit, lean protein, and healthy fats. I am always experimenting with different meals, seeing which types of food I perform best in the gym with and which help me recover quickly.

Why did you start Crossfit?
I started crossfit as a way of coping with mental fatigue from work, and the stress of moving and living in a new city. It was just after my group relocated from Houston, TX to Albuquerque, NM. It was also a way to force myself to socialize, as I tend to keep to myself a lot.

What were your goals when you started Crossfit?
I enjoy the learning process, so my goals haven’t changed over time: learn the skill, prioritize movement quality and avoid running at all costs, especially when there are stairs involved.

How has Crossfit differed from your former training? There is always a challenge, it does not matter how skilled you might be, and that alone has kept me engaged for years.

What type of results have you seen with Crossfit? I am stronger mentally and physically, plus I got a bit better at making new friends.

How would you describe your experience at Crossfit Hoboken?
I joined CFH in February this year, after relocating from NM. I watched the program for a while before I dropped in on a Saturday for a heavy barbell WOD, always my favorites. I came in a couple more times before I decided to become a member. It was the quality of the coaching, the attention to form and safety and of course the sound of 20 barbells hitting the floor that convinced me CFH was the right place for me.

Any advice for new members?
Just show up, no matter how you feel, just walk up those stairs and be the best version of yourself for that 1 hour. Hard work shows.

What would you like to accomplish in the next year in your own fitness?
I really need to get better at gymnastics.

What does a typical day of food look like for you?
I am finally paying more attention to proper nutrition. For a few weeks now, I’ve been having 3 meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) plus morning and afternoon snacks, all measured up. Pre-workout snack is always very light, normally small fruit, and a lot of water. Yes, drink water, it does wonders to your body.
