HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT CROSSFIT? Current members Ryan and Mary O’Neil have been going for quite sometime and told me how great it has been for them. They couldn’t recommend it enough, and so I decided to give it a shot.
WHAT WERE YOUR GOALS WHEN YOU STARTED CROSSFIT? My first goal was to lose some of the excess weight I’ve been carrying around the past couple of years. And ultimately regain a lot of the strength I lost after attending mostly cardio oriented gyms.
HOW HAS CROSSFIT DIFFERED FROM YOUR FORMER TRAINING? I used to do a lot of boxing and cardio classes with some lifting here and there. I saw some results in the short term, but they were never truly sustainable. Through CrossFit the combination of both strength training and cardio, I have been able to both lose weight and increase my strength.
WHAT TYPE OF RESULTS HAVE YOU SEEN WITH CROSSFIT? Since starting I’ve lost close to 25 pounds and regained a lot of my lost strength.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR EXPERIENCE AT CROSSFIT HOBOKEN? Its been great. It has been very welcoming right from the start. The programing has been terrific, the variety of movements throughout each workout has really challenged my body and helps to push myself in the gym.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH IN THE NEXT YEAR IN YOUR OWN FITNESS? In my own fitness, I would like to continue to lose a little more weight and continue to build my strength. But ultimately just want to feel comfortable in my own skin, and so far CrossFit Hoboken has me off to great start.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY OF FOOD LOOK LIKE YOUR YOU? Just coffee in the morning, unless I do a morning workout class then its usually a protein shake and some eggs. Lunch in usually something light, like a salad or sandwich. Dinner is typically my largest meal, with some type of chicken or steak and vegetables or side salad.
