Why did you start Crossfit?
My old roommate started Crossfit and encouraged me to try it out. It only took one class to get me hooked.

What were your goals when you started Crossfit?
Just to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I started Crossfit right after graduating from law school. Finding a work-life can be tough in your first years as a lawyer. Having that one hour of Crossfit as part of my daily routine really boosted my mental and physical energy.

How has Crossfit differed from your former training?
It is a lot more fun and high energy. During college and law school I would just lift weights and occasionally run. For the most part, these are solitary routines. Crossfit WODs are fast paced and really push you to the limit. Also, the Crossfit community is great. It helps to have people encourage you to finish strong, and keep you accountable if you’re slacking off.

What type of results have you seen with Crossfit?
Crossfit has helped me develop functional strength and flexibility, which goes a long way when you sit at a desk for most of the day.

How would you describe your experience at Crossfit Hoboken?
I started at CFH in March after moving from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Needless to say, it was a big change. CFH really helped me get adjusted after the move. Everyone from the staff, coaches, and athletes were quick to welcome me to the CFH community. There’s a lot positive energy at CFH.

Any advice for new members?
If you’re a new member attending one of the early morning sessions, as I do, my advice would be to get out of bed as soon as your alarm goes off. For me, getting out of bed at 5:45 a.m. is worse than any WOD. However, there’s nothing like finishing your workout first thing in the morning. You’ll feel energized and will start your day out accomplishing something. It’s a small feat, but in my experience it pays dividends as the day progresses.

What would you like to accomplish in the next year in your own fitness?
I’d like to work on my core strength. Gymnastics movements are my weakness, and I’d love for that to not be the case.

What does a typical day of food look like for you?
Breakfast – A protein shake, a lot of coffee, and some cereal with almond milk.
Lunch – I usually have one of the Kettlebell Kitchen meals. Highly recommend them. They are healthy and taste great.
Dinner – During the week, lean protein and/or a salad. During the weekends, the absolute opposite.

Why did you start Crossfit?
I was boring of regular gym after 2 years been regular working out 5 or 6 times a week.

What were your goals when you started Crossfit?
Lose weight and get stronger fisically and mentally.

How has Crossfit differed from your former training?
Workout in a group motivates a lot. Every minute counts. In a regular gym you don’t have nobody correcting your technique, in my case, I had a shoulder with pain for months.

What type of results have you seen with Crossfit?
I feel stronger, improve my techniques and increase my PR’s.

Any advice for new members?
Leave the ego at the door of the box. Always hear the coaches. Be patience. Compete with yourself.

What would you like to accomplish in the next year in your own fitness?
I want to be in my best physical shape to reach the Open 2019

What does a typical day of food look like for you?
Breakfast: Eggs with vegetables and cheese. Always coffee.
Lunch and Dinner: Any animal protein, with complex carbs and salad o vegetables.
Snacks: Could be Greek yogurt, fruits and nuts.
